FWB is owned by its founders and directors, Judy Wagner, Scott Black and Willie Finlayson who together have over 50 years' experience in recruitment at a senior level.

The company was established in 1993 with support from a venture capital fund, which subsequently was bought out. Before establishing FWB the founders were directors of a large, UK-wide recruitment consultancy group, formed as a result of a management buy out, supported by 3i plc.

In 2002, FWB Consulting was established. This business, which is managed by Paul Dickens, supports FWB with its services to clients and also works independently with its own clients designing and managing development programmes.

Today, from offices in Edinburgh and London, FWB and FWBC serves a client base of leading businesses and public sector organisations, with repeat business accounting for a high proportion of the company's assignments.
