FWB hosts Life Sciences Dinner....

FWB recently hosted a private discussion dinner for key industry players in the life sciences marketplace to discuss the challenges of attracting and retaining top talent in Scotland.

Scotland has the 2nd largest cluster for life sciences in the UK and can offer fantastic opportunities for building a successful career. We know that talent is undoubtedly one of the most vital elements contributing to a robust and dynamic bioscience sector in Scotland and continued emphasis needs to be put on promoting Scotland as an attractive destination for those working in this area.

The discussion focussed on the importance of ensuring that every effort is made to retain top talent here. It was also thought vital for the robustness of the industry that talent is attracted from the South and further afield as Scotland continues to be often out-competed by other UK regions in attracting top talent.

The outcome of the dinner has seen FWB facilitate a number of meetings between Scottish Enterprise and key industry figures to allow action to be taken on the main issues which included recruitment, training and maximising the use of tools available to clients and candidates including the GlobalScot Network and Talent Scotland.

FWB will continue to input into the Life Sciences Work Stream team at Scottish Enterprise in facilitating the exchange of ideas and information.
