Chief Financial Officer

About the role

Forsa Energy is an energy company that develops, builds and operates flexible gas power generation assets. Backed by Tiger Infrastructure, who acquired the business in late 2020, Forsa Energy has a mandate to grow its gas generation portfolio in the UK and European markets. Significant investment is expected over the next 5 years to support Forsa Energy’s rapid growth in both the UK and Europe.

Forsa’s current portfolio in the UK comprises a flexible gas power portfolio which includes 70MW in commercial operation and 110MW under construction and a further 90MW that is construction ready. Projects in operation, construction and construction ready are supported by Capacity Market contracts. Forsa also has a substantial pipeline of further projects in various stages of development. The development, financing, and construction management of these projects is undertaken by Forsa’s in-house team.

Following the recent investment by Tiger Infrastructure, Forsa Energy would like to hire an experienced CFO who has significant experience of operating at Board level. Experience of working with private equity investors or similar would be extremely attractive, as is experience within the UK energy/renewable sector or a related project finance environment.

The CFO has overall control and responsibility for all financial and commercial aspects of the business and is expected to analyse financial and commercial scenarios and make the appropriate recommendations to the CEO and the Board based on these findings. The successful candidate will manage and lead the Finance and Commercial Team through periods including month end, year-end, annual budgeting, capacity market auctions and asset annual operation. The CFO must have excellent communication skills with all levels of staff, often having to work with various departments to help them plan and manage their own budgets and commercial structures. In periods of change and growth an effective CFO is critical, coordinating corporate finance and managing company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, and acquisitions as appropriate. A minimum period of 5 years operating in the role as CFO or Finance Director is required to be considered for the role.
