BioOutsource, headquartered in Glasgow, UK, provides contract testing services. The company tests the safety and quality of biologic drugs and vaccines for pharmaceutical clients, and specialises in offering a comprehensive suite of services for the growing biosimilar industry. To accompany the growth strategy and organisational changes the management team, located in Glasgow, are looking to appoint a highly competent Head of Human Resources.

Role and Responsibilities

The Head of Human Resources will be responsible for the HR management of around 400 employees in the UK, Ireland, Denmark and Sweden. The role will report to the Director of HR, Central & North Europe with a dotted line to the CEO of Sartorius’ BioOutsource business. The Head of HR will work closely with the senior management team to ensure all HR processes and procedures are consistent and effective and will belong to the international HR Executive Team, which works together in further developing the global HR strategy of Sartorius Group.

Along with performing operational HR activities such as recruitment, personnel support, payroll and labour law issues, the Head of HR will be involved in projects: such as the integration and growth of the business into the Sartorius portfolio, harmonization of HR processes and personnel development for the employees.

Required competencies:

  • Higher/Academic Education or equivalent in Human Resources and Labour Law
  • 5-10 years HR-related experience, preferably in the biotechnical industry
  • Experience in recruitment and personnel development
  • Experience in employer branding, compensation & benefits and organizational development
  • Intercultural competence and practical knowledge in expatriation management
  • Strong international networking skills
  • Experience of improvement techniques and change management methods
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to travel globally
