Director of Finance & Corporate Services

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) is one of Europe’s leading orchestras with a rich history stretching back over 125 years.  It is one of Scotland’s leading cultural institutions, and has a variety of work that is almost unparalleled amongst its British peers.  We are a growing, dynamic business with big plans for the next 5 years. 

We are seeking a strategic, highly organised and collaborative individual to join the Senior Management team.  This is a key leadership role responsible for reporting on all financial performance, budgeting and forecasting and ensuring compliance with RSNO’s main funding bodies.   

Reporting to the CEO, you will ensure that the wider organisation is supported through the provision of efficient finance and business support services, including HR.  The Director of Finance & Corporate Services is the organisation’s lead expert on finance matters, advising the CEO, Management Team and Board of Trustees of short, medium, and long-term finance strategies and activities to optimise the RSNO’s financial resources. 

You will also sit on the Board of Scottish Digital Arts Media which was formed in 2021 to provide soundtrack recording services for clients including Walt Disney, Sony Pictures and Paramount, amongst others.  This is a key focus and growth area for the business. 

We are looking for candidates who are: 

• Qualified accountants from a business or charity background 

• Experienced leaders of finance and corporate services teams (exposure to the HR function is an advantage) 

• Able to prioritise a variety of demands from a wide stakeholder group 

• Excited about the opportunity to build a lasting career with RSNO 

• Interested in the arts and, of course, ideally in classical music!
