Chair

About the role

Forth Green Freeport is Scotland’s largest opportunity to deliver a just transition to net zero, to attract significant inward investment, to build international trade and export capability and to create high quality and well-paid jobs in renewable energy, green manufacturing and alternative fuels.

Forth Green Freeport is built on a collaboration of both private and public organisations who share the vision to re-industrialise Scotland and spread the benefits of trade widely into the local communities that need it the most.

The delivery of this ambitious and exciting project will have a transformative impact across the Forth Estuary, Scotland and the UK and will drive real economic growth through innovation, trade and investment and supporting Scotland’s transition to net zero.

The Role

We are looking for an exceptional candidate who will Chair the Governance Board of Forth Green Freeport, leading a Board made up of Public and Private sector leaders.

This is a high-profile position and a transformational role, offering a rare opportunity to provide strategic direction and alignment with the other major economic interventions regionally and nationally.

You will be an ambassador for the Forth Green Freeport, liaising closely with a complex range of stakeholders in private, public and government sectors.  You will broker new connections for the Freeport both locally and internationally and forge positive relationships across this stakeholder group.

You will be a visible, inspirational and politically astute leader with excellent communication skills and the energy to really drive forward the goals and mission of the Forth Green Freeport.

Time commitment is expected to be 3-4 days per month with quarterly Board meetings.
