Midfearn Distillery is a brand-new distillery which will be built beside the Dornoch Firth and will be capable of producing 1 million litres of alcohol per annum.  The project has full planning permission as well as significant funding and will start in earnest in 2023.  The design is heavily focussed on sustainability with ambitious low carbon targets from the outset.

Midfearn Distillery is looking to appoint an entrepreneurial CEO who shares the company mission and vision, to take full control and responsibility for running the company, leading commercial and business development, partner engagement, marketing/brand, and operations.  The CEO will work in close collaboration with the investors and advisory team.

This is a unique opportunity to join a business with ambitious global development plans and to contribute to its growth and success, to set the tone of the business and drive the vision over the next 5-10 years.

This role will suit candidates with the appetite and energy to join an ambitious company as it begins its growth journey, shaping the future in conjunction with the board.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing all aspects of the business autonomously
• Owning commercial and business development and customer growth
• Creating and executing brand and marketing strategy
• Building international partnerships

We are looking for candidate with the following attributes:

• Experience in the whisky industry in a senior commercial, brand focussed role
• Able to demonstrate appetite for and capability of working in a growing business environment
• Experience in planning and executing a strategy for profitable growth
• Well networked in the relevant market segments internationally – can hit the ground running in terms of developing deep and sustainable relationships and partnerships for the future
• Credible and charismatic ambassador for the company
