Alex Begg produces luxurious cashmere scarves and throws for some of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses as well as for the companies own brand Begg x Co. The business, which is based in Ayr, Scotland employs 135 people and is owned by Lindengruppen in Sweden. Alex Begg has a 150-year heritage as a manufacturer of quality products and seven years ago the owners decided to develop a stronger consumer proposition and created Begg x Co.

The Begg x Co brand is stocked within many of the world’s most prestigious stores and independent retailers.  Since the launch of the brand the business has doubled in size to £18m and strong growth of the brand continues to be a key strategic priority for the business.

The product offering has recently expanded beyond core woven products into knitwear and there is scope for continued growth and expansion. The commercial strategy will be reviewed with the appointment of the new Commercial Director in order to consider key growth and development opportunities.

The Commercial Director reports to the CEO and will be supported by Sales Managers in London, New York and Shanghai as well as Sales Agents in key territories.

We are looking for candidates with experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy within fashion / luxury products to deliver international sales growth.  With a passion for luxury fashion, a comprehensive knowledge of the industry and strong commercial acumen, you will drive the Begg x Co brand to achieve its strategic target of doubling in size.

This is a key role in the Executive Leadership team and represents an opportunity to join an iconic Scottish company with proud provenance and to positively impact its global performance.
