Head of Business Development – Europe

About Quickblock

QUICKBLOCK is an innovative and scaling Scottish business providing rapidly deployable modular infrastructure across a range of sectors including defence and security, humanitarian and disaster relief, construction, events and agriculture. With a highly adaptable product platform and growing international customer base, defence and security have become the principal focus for the next stage of the company’s growth.

Headquartered in Stirling and led by CEO Andrew Vincent, QUICKBLOCK is at an exciting stage in its development. Andrew has led the commercialisation and growth of the business as it has increasingly focused on defence and international markets, supported by an experienced Board and investor base. Having established its product and built a growing customer base in the UK and Europe, QUICKBLOCK is now focused on scaling internationally, with Germany, Poland and the Nordics identified as key growth markets.

This next phase is supported by a recent £940,000 investment, backed by existing investors including Equity Gap, the University of Strathclyde and Scottish Enterprise, alongside innovation grant funding. The investment will support increased production capacity, further development of the commercial team and expansion across European defence markets.

At the heart of the business is QUICKBLOCK’s innovative flat-packed, interlocking building system. Lightweight, reusable and highly adaptable, the system enables structures to be assembled quickly without specialist tools or permanent construction and can be dismantled and reconfigured as requirements change. Within defence and security, QUICKBLOCK is used to create military and police training environments, the ability to rapidly create and adapt realistic training scenarios provides customers with a flexible and cost-effective alternative to traditional fixed infrastructure.

There is also a growing market for shelters, checkpoints and force-protection structures which can be easily deployed in theatre. Defence and security are now the principal areas of commercial focus, with the UK MOD QUICKBLOCK’s largest customer. The business is increasingly moving from individual unit purchases towards larger, more strategic opportunities while developing its network of customers, agents and partners across Europe. QUICKBLOCK has established a strong platform from which to grow. With further
investment secured, an established UK business and increasing demand across Europe, the focus is now firmly on building the commercial capability and international presence required for the next stage of its development
