About the role

Reporting directly to Managing Partner, Stephen Goldie, this individual will be accountable for delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting operational growth, and upholding compliance with regulatory requirements, while partnering with senior leadership to drive the firm’s long-term success.

Key responsibilities

As a member of the firm’s Operational Board, key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Finance

  • Development of firm strategy and underlying financial outcomes
  • Financial support to all firmwide projects
  • Financial support to bids and tenders
  • Pricing of client work
  • Presentation of financial results at Quarterly Partner meetings
  • Responsibility for setting of partner drawings policy and tax reserving policy
  • Maintenance of Partner drawings accounts as well as tax reserves and capital accounts
  • Calculation of partner’s individual monthly drawings and quarterly payments
  • Maintenance of firm capital structure and capital injections as partners progress.
  • Preparation and presentation of budgets for the firm and all divisions/practice areas; monthly management accounts; statutory accounts; and ad hoc financial reporting requests

Candidate requirements

The ideal candidate will be a qualified chartered accountant (with at least 10 years of post-qualification experience) and respected finance leader with the following skills, qualifications, and attributes:

  • A strategic mindset and strong analytical acumen
  • Ability to manage complex financial operations, drive process improvements and oversee compliance and risk initiatives.
  • Experience of Board membership and operating at Executive level
  • Clear ability to lead and influence but at the same time able to do the detailed work.
  • Adept at building and motivating high performing teams.
  • Establishing strong relationships with key stakeholders across the firm
