Global Head of Procurement Development
About the role
The purpose of this newly created position will be to support the development of the Global Procurement function in addition to leading the newly created Luxury Procurement team. This is a prominent new role that will have group wide exposure and we envisage this as a key succession role to the Group Procurement Director for the right individual.
The successful candidate will work strategically with the Global Procurement Director to influence and drive the transformation of the procurement function. The key focus is to create a more commercially aligned procurement agenda focused on delivering value, scaling for further growth whilst minimising risk.
The luxury segment is a significant strategic priority for WG&S, and this role will play a fundamental part in leading the delivery of the luxury procurement agenda. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to join us and play a pivotal role in driving our luxury agenda forward in a very exciting and influential segment.
If you are looking for a high impact role that can notably make a difference to the performance and profitability of the business through the delivery of best in class sourcing and procurement, then this is the role for you.
Having grown the team from 6 to 20 people globally over the last 3 years, with significant savings over that time, the procurement function is now seen as a key business driver within the organisation. Having recently moved to a centralised model, it is envisaged that this role will play a pivotal part in unlocking the untapped potential of the procurement function, transforming the way that it engages with the wider business in order to help it innovate and drive further performance improvements.
The person to join our team must be able to demonstrate strong and dynamic leadership, be a natural and influential change agent and not be phased by ambiguity. They will be an inspirational figure within a developing team of procurement professionals, demonstrating best-in-class procurement skills and acting as coach / mentor to raise performance.
