About the role
The business has over 200 sales and service centres worldwide with the Group Finance team based in Glasgow.
Following a recent strategic review that underscored a significant pipeline of growth opportunities, Aggreko is strengthening its team with the addition of a Group Reporting Manager to manage US GAAP reporting.
This role will play a key part in supporting the company’s ambitions in North America, its largest and most strategically important region. As Aggreko transitions its reporting framework from IFRS to US GAAP, they are seeking an experienced manager who can provide essential subject-matter expertise and guide the business through this change.
Key responsibilities
This highly visible role will be responsible for the following:
- Leading the project to transition the Group’s external financial reporting from IFRS to US GAAP, including identification and quantification of key differences.
- Working closely with external advisors and the internal team to prepare technical accounting papers that document and support the Group’s accounting positions.
- Driving the transformation of external financial statements, disclosures, and regulatory filings to ensure full compliance with US GAAP and potential SEC listing requirements.
- Supporting the preparation of year-end and quarterly external filings, as well as internal board reporting, under US GAAP and SEC standards.
- Coordinating audit support activities, including preparation of schedules and responses to auditor queries.
- Updating and maintaining the Group Finance Manual to reflect US GAAP requirements.
- Serving as a key technical accounting resource across the global finance function.
Candidate requirements
We are looking to appoint an experienced senior finance professional who ideally has experience of operating in a complex group structure in a US GAAP environment.
The individual will have the ability to grasp the requirements of the role, quickly, with initiative and proactivity to allow them to operate autonomously and work collaboratively as part of the growing team in Glasgow.
We would be seeking experience specifically in the following areas:
- Strong technical knowledge of both IFRS and US GAAP, with hands-on experience converting financials from IFRS to US GAAP.
- Currently working in or have recent experience within a large SEC-listed group reporting under US GAAP
- Proven experience preparing external financial reports and regulatory filings compliant with SEC standards.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex financial transformation initiatives.
In addition, they will bring the following personal qualities:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting matters clearly.
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining rigorous financial controls.
- Confident working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external advisors.
- Adaptable, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-moving, global environment.
