Head of Commercialisation
About the role
Our client is a market leading private equity backed real estate organisation and retail landlord, with funding for numerous significant development projects over the next few years. The Head of Commercialisation will support the Group Commercial Director who reports directly to the PE investor and the CEO. They will lead strategic development projects to develop the land and property assets of the organisation, in such a way as to maximise land/property utilisation and values. Amongst other areas of focus, this will include utilising existing land or purchasing adjacent land for the development of power generation capability, hotel accommodation, residential and major retail, as well as the related infrastructure requirements.
The role will also lead development project risk assessment, deciding how best to structure the commercial discussions with key stakeholders and obtaining the necessary planning consents for any such projects etc. The Head of Commercialisation will interface closely with the PE backers, the CEO and other key internal and external stakeholders, including local government.
The ideal candidates will have very strong financial and analytical skills as well as a well-developed project management and delivery capability. They will possess the personal attributes necessary to form excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders and be able to create, design, negotiate and execute deals at all levels. These attributes will include strong communications skills, energy, enthusiasm, motivation, determination and entrepreneurial flair. A corporate finance or other professional qualification would be preferred but is not essential.
