About the role

Robertson is one of the largest independently owned construction, infrastructure and support services companies in the UK. Covering the entire built environment life-cycle, Robertson operates throughout the UK comprising 22 businesses and employing over 3000 people.  The businesses include regionally based construction companies, timber engineering, facilities management, a capital projects business dedicated to public sector partnerships, property development, regeneration, civil engineering and building services.

With this ethos comes the desire to establish the Robertson Training Academy. The Academy will support and develop Robertson employees across the organisation from more junior roles through to executive level.

The Head of the Academy will ensure that the organisation has the right supply and level of training and development to meet the organisation’s future strategic growth needs and has the solutions in place to ensure the continual development of employees across the business.  As part of the Group HR Senior Leadership team, the Head of the Academy will devise and implement a group wide training strategy as well as leading the Academy to be a commercially viable business function. This role requires an individual with demonstrable experience within either a Learning & Development, Training or Academy environment. An effective coach, mentor and strategic implementer who is able to bring a partnership approach as well as strong commercial acumen.
