Head of Sales & Marketing

About the role

Don & Low Limited is one of Europe’s leading producers of industrial textiles with an unrivalled reputation for quality and technical excellence.

We are looking to appoint a Head of Sales & Marketing to drive forward the performance of the commercial function and provide strong leadership to the existing team.  The successful candidate will be a member of the Executive Committee.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivery of the sales function’s annual objectives
  • Ensuring that the sales team understand and contribute to the preparation and delivery of the Company’s 5-year strategic plan
  • The effective gathering and analysing of market intelligence and design of an effective go to market strategy by product family and market
  • Designing and implementing a sales strategy for each customer
  • Driving appropriate commercial decisions in respect of the customer portfolio
  • Ensuring that all sales opportunities are evaluated using sound commercial principles
  • Communicating with production and development teams with the aim of optimising the sales mix
  • Managing the company’s visual marketing activity
  • Providing strong mentor/coach support to the sales function
  • Implementing appropriate training and development
  • Talent management/succession planning within the commercial team

We are looking for a proven commercial leader with strong financial acumen and significant, blue chip sales and marketing experience in the UK and Europe.

A practical knowledge of the effective application of leading edge sales management techniques combined with excellent people skills and a strong results focus are highly desirable.  Candidates will have a high degree of personal credibility – setting and maintaining high standards for themselves and others and leading from the front.
