About the role

Barnes Aerospace is an international group providing complex engineering solutions to some of the key names in the Aerospace, Industrial and Defence markets. Operating from sites close to key customers in North America, Europe and Asia, the Barnes Aerospace group provides advanced technological solutions leveraging in-depth knowledge of fabrications, machining and the global supply chain to support complex aero-engine and aero-engine gas turbine derivatives component manufacture and repair.

Reporting to the VP Global Sales and Commercial, the Manager – Commercial Pricing & Initiatives will be responsible for working across the sales and business unit teams to drive and refine bid models and approval packs to achieve best-in-class commercial terms. This includes but is not limited to coordinating multi-site bid packages, driving commercial claims processes, analysis of loss-making parts, and supporting the contract extension strategy.

The Manager, Commercial Pricing & Initiatives can be based in either Glasgow or Newton Abbot, with a flexible and hybrid approach to working.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide leadership to Site CBMs, Finance, Sales Directors in refinement of bid models and approval packs considering best commercial/contract practices and unique deal considerations.
  • Defend business case to leadership team and provide support analysis/data as required to support efficient approval of deals
  • Merge multi-site bids into global BA business cases.
  • Drive commercial claims process with sites. Drive pricing objectives, commercial initiatives, ensure all annual contract pricing across the sites is being completed per contract terms and timing. Complete sector wide contract data analysis.
  • Evaluate loss making parts across the group and, together with Engineering, develop a plan that could include commercial strategy to address with customer and drive cross functional team to execute. Support contract extension strategy development and negotiations through conglomeration of market data to support BA position.

The successful candidate will be a strong leader who blends strong commercial and financial acumen and strategic thinking with tactical execution to deliver results in highly complex commercial settings. This person must have a strong desire to leverage their strategic thinking capabilities within the business as well as drive execution for superior results.
