Private Client Tax Partner within Personal Tax Department
About the role
FWB Park Brown are delighted to be working with our client’s exciting and market leading Tax Department to recruit a new Private Client Tax Partner.
As part of the continued growth and succession planning within the firm, our client is now looking for an experienced tax professional to join their leadership team as an additional partner in the personal tax department.
It has been an especially exciting two years for the firm which culminated in multiple award successes, a 14% rise in turnover, an increase in headcount, including new partner and director hires as well as 20 internal promotions and significant investment in new key markets and departments.
Working alongside the established partner group and with the benefit of a reputable client base you will have a unique opportunity to shape the future success of this department and the firm. You have the chance to grow and develop client networks whilst realising your success as a key leader within the partnership.
Key Responsibilities
The vacancy involves all aspects of private client work which includes:
- Ensuring a quality led partner service is provided to clients at competitive pricing
- Overseeing tax services for a range of clients providing specialist advice on matters including inheritance tax planning (individuals and owner managed businesses), capital gains tax, tax residency and profit extraction from businesses
- Building long lasting and effective working relationships with clients, third parties, partners and staff
- Supporting all partners and directors in the provision of tax advice to clients
- Driving fee income for the firm collaboratively with the established and supportive partner team
- Ensuring work is delivered on budget and according to deadline through effective management and delegation
- Business development activities from within the existing client base, referrals, cross selling and our supplier/external partner network
- Continuing to raise the profile of and maintaining the firm’s reputation as a market leader
- Acting as a mentor to support both managers and other team members
- Reviewing and developing improved working practices
About You
As a partner specialising in Private Client Tax you will be driven by your own high standards and your profile will include:
- Experience at Director or Partner within a private client practice
- Strong tax technical skills in private client advisory with a proven track record CTA or STEP qualification desirable
- Strong understanding of owner managed businesses including limited companies and partnerships and related tax matters
- Trust advisory expertise
- An ability to understand and present financial accounts
- Able to grow a client network and to service an existing network of clients
- Ability to act as a trusted client adviser bringing commercialism to the relationship
- Demonstrate a track record of quality client-focused service
- Experience of successfully leading and developing senior staff and teams
- Strong project management skills
- Effective financial management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written required
- Effective decision maker, able to balance multiple work streams and stringent deadlines to ensure work is delivered to a high standard
- Demonstrate a track record of being at the forefront of tax industry development
