People Engagement Manager

About the role

Brodies LLP is a UK law firm headquartered in Scotland. It is the largest in its jurisdiction measured by income, directory rankings, and lawyer numbers. In the last three years, the firm’s revenue has grown by 20%, and they have added nearly 100 new colleagues. Today, they now have close to 800 people working from their bases in Aberdeen, Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow. As a key member of the People Engagement (HR) team, the successful candidate will be an integral part of the business providing a comprehensive people related advice to the legal practice areas. As well as demonstrating a broad range of experience, including managing complex employee relations case work and managing change, you will have the ability to build relationships, influence and communicate in a fast paced environment in order to provide a first class service to the business. This role will involve supporting colleagues across all our offices and reasonable travel will be required.

This will be an exciting and challenging role suiting a candidate who has worked in a professional setting with demanding projects and initiatives. This role include a project delivering on the contract that they have with their people. You will have a passion for people engagement and experience in Employee Value Proposition.

This role will be the first point of contact across Real Estate and Personal and Family where you will support those areas with all People and Engagement requirements. You will act as a coach to line managers to support that best practice is adopted across these areas and work in collaboration with fellow People Engagement Managers to ensure consistency across the firm.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience delivering HR and solution based advice.
  • Strong working knowledge of handling complex employee relations case work.
  • An up to date, high level of expertise and experience in all People Engagement related matters.
  • Strong academics which ideally include a business related degree with CIPD or relevant experience
  • The ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
  • The ability to influence and persuade at all levels.
  • Experience of working successfully in a fast paced and challenging environment.
  • Be able to implement key requirements for project delivery.
  • An approachable, enthusiastic, and committed team player.
