International Beverages Holdings Ltd UK (Inver House Distillers Ltd)
Founded in 1964, IBHL UK (formally Inver House Distillers) is the Group’s wholly owned Scotch Whisky subsidiary headquartered in Scotland. Within its portfolio there are five distilleries – Pulteney, Balblair, Knockdhu, Speyburn and Balmenach, each distilling its own single malt whisky. As well as producing malt whisky, Balmenach Distillery distils our premium, small batch gin brand, Caorunn.
IBHL UK has its main headquarters and warehousing facility located at Airdrie. This also includes blending, laboratory and bottling facilities with warehousing for over 500,000 barrels.
International Beverage is currently undergoing a period of significant and ambitious growth, and it continues to invest in these operations and its overall growth strategy, including both organic and acquisitive growth, it is looking to bolster the leadership team with a number of critical appointments.
One of these key appointments is a new Technology Director.
The Opportunity:
To date, IT has played a largely back office role, providing systems and infrastructure to support the efficient operation of the organisation. As such IT services have been provided through a centralised structure with Scottish based IT team providing a service to all business units within IBHL, specifically the roll out and maintenance of the Group ERP system.
To achieve sustainable growth, the company needs an increased focus on driving a more coordinated and integrated approach. Demands for increased automation, more standardised processes and a key strategic focus on digitilisation and analytics to drive value-added solutions is placing technology at the heart of the digital transformation of the company.
Against this backdrop, Technology has a key role to play in enabling the future success of the Group. IT needs to evolve from its history as a key supporting function to operating as a high performing, trusted business partner, strategically aligned to business requirements, and enabling both the standardised core technology platforms and the innovative tools and applications that support customer-facing teams. This will be a major transformation that
will evolve over time and that will require change in the organisation, culture, resources, ways of working, business alignment as well as the underlying systems environment.
The continued transformation of the IT function and operating model, strong IT/business alignment and the build-up of new capabilities in areas such as customer-facing functions are critical success factors moving forward.
IBHL is therefore looking to appoint an Technology Director to be responsible for leading the digital transformation strategy across the company as it grows both organically and through acquisition internationally.
Given the Group’s ownership, the candidate will demonstrate good cultural awareness and a track record of working with diverse nationalities and across multiple markets and cultures.
The role is international in scope and outlook and will involve a travel schedule spanning North America, Europe and Asia.
The Technology Director will be based flexibly from the company’s Scottish operation in Airdrie and reports to the Managing Director as part of the leadership team.
