Edinburgh-based Lochay Homes has appointed Andy Wyles, former northern regional chair at Bellway, as its new non-executive chair.

Andy joins Lochay Homes following a distinguished 23-year career at Bellway, where he held senior leadership roles and led major delivery programmes across the North of England and Scotland. He brings significant national-level experience and strategic insight at a crucial time for SME housebuilders.

Celebrating its 15th year in business, Lochay Homes is delivering developments across Scotland, with current sites including Lochside Park in Dunfermline, Castle Gate in Falkirk and Windmill Gardens in Fife, alongside upcoming projects at Rowantree Meadows in Penicuik and Bridgend in West Lothian due to start in 2026.

In his role at Lochay Homes, Andy will support the company’s strategic growth as it expands its portfolio of quality and design-led homes across Scotland. His appointment comes as the housing industry – and smaller housebuilders in particular – face growing pressures, including higher front-end costs, planning delays and longer lead times that can put increased strain on development viability. Despite these industry challenges, Andy believes independent housebuilders are well placed to succeed through agility and strong local knowledge.

Commenting on the appointment from FWB, Adam Brown said:

“We are delighted to have helped Lochay Homes to recruit Andy at the inflection point as he moves from his executive career with Bellway to his to non-executive career. We wish Andy, Jamie Thomson and the team all the best as they shape the future of the company.”
