Director of People and Culture

The Scottish Event Campus (SEC) is a world-class destination for conferences, exhibitions, live entertainment and events. As we continue to evolve and grow, we are seeking an exceptional Director of People & Culture to join our Executive Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organisation. 

This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished senior people leader to influence organisational strategy at the highest level, drive cultural excellence, and help create an environment where our colleagues can thrive, develop and perform at their best. 

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead the SEC’s people, culture and internal communications agenda, ensuring our people strategy is fully embedded within our business strategy and positioned to support long-term success. 

As a trusted advisor and strategic partner to the CEO, Executive Team and Board, you will provide leadership across all aspects of organisational capability, talent, culture, reward, employee relations, leadership development and colleague engagement. 

You will be responsible for ensuring the SEC has the leadership, skills, culture and organisational capability required to deliver its ambitious plans, while fostering an inclusive, high-performing environment where people feel valued, connected and empowered to succeed. 

The role also carries responsibility for Internal Communications, helping strengthen organisational alignment, transparency and engagement across the business. 

• Lead the SEC’s People & Culture strategy, ensuring it supports organisational growth and performance. 

• Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Executive Team and Board on people, culture and organisational matters. 

• Drive leadership, talent, culture and organisational development initiatives that build capability and engagement. 

• Oversee employee relations, reward, performance, governance and people risk. 

• Lead internal communications, strengthening transparency, alignment and colleague connection. 

• Develop and inspire the People & Communications team while championing a high-performing, inclusive culture. 

We are looking for an experienced and credible executive-level People & Culture leader who combines strategic vision with commercial acumen and exceptional stakeholder influence. 

You will bring: 

• Chartered CIPD qualification (or equivalent professional expertise). 

• Proven experience leading People & Culture functions within complex organisations. 

• A track record of developing and delivering people strategies that support business growth and performance. 

• Significant experience advising CEOs, Executive Teams and Boards. 

• Strong expertise in organisational development, transformation and culture change. 

• Deep knowledge of UK employment law, employee relations and governance. 

• Experience leading reward, performance and talent strategies. 

• Exceptional communication, influencing and relationship-building skills. 

• The ability to inspire confidence, challenge constructively and drive meaningful organisational change.
