Head of Major Projects
About the role
Edinburgh Innovations Limited (EI) is The University of Edinburgh’s commercialisation service and works with major industrial partners to deliver projects across all industries, building innovative ideas using the right technologies, expertise and facilities at the University. EI has enjoyed 4 years of consecutive growth and is looking to build on this.
EI is seeking a leader for its Major Projects Team; reporting directly to the CEO and leading a high performing team of 10 highly experienced and talented members of staff.
The post-holder will create, lead and deliver a strategic plan which will deliver significant numbers of new, major projects (a major project defined as > £3M, target is £15M per annum of new projects by 2023) in partnership with academic colleagues and external industrial partners.
A respected leader, the post-holder will have strong interpersonal skills including motivational, negotiation, influencing and networking both nationally and internationally.
We are looking for candidates with a strong commercial/sales background who can win and develop bids for projects with key industrial partners. Sector experience in IT, Communications or Engineering would be highly relevant.
