Brian, a qualified engineer, began his working life in a large Scottish engineering firm, where he managed various departments before leaving to take up his first Managing Director position in his mid-twenties. He has since been involved with businesses at Board level for over four decades. He has worked in many sectors including, Automotive, Software, Technology, Construction, Electronics, Professional services, Recruitment, and Engineering.

Today, he is an active investor in technology companies and is a main shareholder and Director of Synlata, which develops business in 12 countries for some of the largest technology companies in the world. Brian also handles the global strategy for Kreoh, the Dublin based AI company. Brian has held previous Board positions over the last 40 years both executive and non executive.

In 2022 he was recognised by the Institute of Directors as Non-Executive Director of the Year for 2021. He has also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate.
