Manchester based family-controlled brewing & hospitality business Hydes has appointed Peter Borg-Neal as its new Chairman, taking over from Richard Lancaster.

Peter has over 40 years’ experience in the sector, having acted as CEO and Chair of Oakman Inns, and previously of Whitbread.

Edinburgh-based Lochay Homes has appointed Andy Wyles, as their new Non-Executive Chair.

Andy joins following a distinguished 23-year career at Bellway, where he held a number of senior leadership positions, including that of Northern Regional Chair. The appointment strengthens the board as the business continues its growth across Scotland.

Welding Engineers has appointed Derek Smith as Non-Executive Director following investment from Foresight Capital. Derek brings extensive leadership experience from senior roles including CEO of ASCO Group, Ramco and  Executive Chair of Edwin James Group.

The University of Edinburgh has appointed Frank Armstrong as Senior Lay Member of Court. Frank has served on Court for the past eight years, including as Convenor of the Estates Committee, and brings extensive leadership experience from the life sciences sector.

The University of Strathclyde has appointed Ross Finlayson and Mark White as Co-Opted Members of its Audit & Risk Committee. Ross brings extensive internal audit and risk experience, while Mark is Global Risk Director at Mace with expertise across major infrastructure and development programmes.

Glasgow Caledonian University has appointed Barbara Allison CBE, Andrew Craig, Cara Chambers, Vida Rudkin and Dr Yvonne Thompson CBE as Lay Members of Court.

Barbara brings senior leadership experience across the public and third sectors, Andrew offers more than 30 years of investment and business growth expertise, Cara has held global marketing leadership roles within the food and drink industry, Vida contributes extensive financial services and governance experience, and Yvonne is an accomplished entrepreneur and champion of women in business. Together, they bring a breadth of expertise that will support the University’s strategic direction and governance.

Offshore energy transfer solutions provider STS Marine Solutions has appointed Jason Hendry as Managing Director. Jason joins from Peterson Energies, where he served as UK Managing Director, having previously worked with Babcock and Serco in his early career.

Zero Waste Scotland has appointed Ciaran McGuigan as Chief Executive Officer. FWB first worked with the organisation in 2021 on the appointment of its Director of Finance and Governance, with Ciaran securing the role following a competitive search process.

Since joining, Ciaran has played a key role in the organisation’s strategic development and transformation. Following Ian Gulland’s decision to retire, FWB was again engaged to support the recruitment of a new Chief Executive, with Ciaran successfully appointed to lead the organisation into its next chapter.

GoFibre has appointed Gail Blain as Chief Financial Officer. Gail was previously Chief Financial Officer at SMS Plc and brings extensive financial leadership experience and a strong track record of supporting growth and strategic development.

FWB is delighted to continue its long relationship with Loganair and to have advised on the appointment of Scott Cunningham to the role of Chief Financial Officer. Scott has played a pivotal role in the growth and transformation of multiple international businesses.

Scott has held senior positions across the Clyde Blowers portfolio, led InterBulk Group plc as CFO through a period of global expansion and acquisitions and, most recently, has guided Iomart Group plc through strategic growth and multiple acquisitions.

Moray Council has appointed Jon Matthews as Executive Director of Finance, Strategy & Transformation and Jamie Fraser as Chief Financial Officer.

Both appointments strengthen the Council’s leadership team as it continues to focus on financial sustainability and organisational transformation.

Scottish Events Campus (SEC) has appointed Andrew Healy as Chief Financial Officer. Andrew brings more than 30 years of finance leadership experience to one of Scotland’s most prominent venues, gained across the property, legal, sport and arts sectors.

The Royal Yacht Britannia has appointed Monica Banks as Director of Finance & Technology. Monica joins the executive team at an exciting stage in the organisation’s continued development, to lead both finance and technology functions as the organisation continues to invest in innovation and future growth.

Vivers Scotlamb has appointed Joanne Rome as Head of Finance. Joanne joins the site leadership team as the business continues to expand its customer base and international footprint.

Joanne’s appointment will support Vivers Scotlamb in maintaining strong financial performance and underpinning its continued development.

Sequoia Economic Infrastructure Income Fund (SEQI) has appointed Graeme McDonald as Director of Finance & Risk. Graeme joins from Inverleith LLP and previously held senior finance positions with Scottish National Investment Bank and Standard Life Investments.

St Andrews Links Trust has appointed Danielle Donaldson as Head of Finance. Danielle joins from Eden Mill, where she led a number of strategic projects including the development of its new distillery and visitor centre, alongside the implementation of its finance ERP system.

Envevo has appointed Richard Turner as Interim Head of FP&A. Richard joins from Dover Fueling Solutions, where he served as FP&A Director for EMEA.

Turcan Connell has appointed Katie Gilmartin as Director of People & Culture. Katie joins following 6 years in the People and Talent space, notably leading People, Culture and Engagement for Arup globally.

Zero Waste Scotland has appointed Deeba Ali as Head of People & Support Services. Deeba joins from Historic Environment Scotland, where she served as Head of People Services.

Faculty of Advocates has appointed Dawn Farquhar as Head of HR. Dawn joins from Citizens Advice Scotland, where she served as Head of People and Transformation.

James Walker has appointed Brenda Malarky as HR Manager. Brenda joins from Guala Closures and will lead the people function across the Group’s diverse portfolio of businesses.

Scottish Friendly has appointed Tracy Thomas as People & Talent Partner. Tracy brings extensive people leadership experience from organisations including Standard Life, Edrington and Glasgow 2018.

Cochran has appointed Shane Crosby as Commercial Director. Shane joins from Excite and has previously held senior commercial leadership positions with Altrad and James Fisher.

Cochran has appointed Graeme Cunningham as Operations Director. Graeme joins from Andrews Sykes Group where was previously UK Operations Director.

Bakkafrost, the global vertically integrated salmon farming company and one of the world’s leading producers of high-quality, sustainable salmon, has appointed Máirín Rua Ní Aodha as Head of Vet Services.

Paul Mazoyer has joined Celtic FC in the newly created role of Head of Business Operations, assuming responsibility for all supporter services across ticketing, retail and hospitality. He brings extensive customer care and commercial experience gained with Heineken.

Duncan & Todd has appointed Stuart Laird as Head of Clinical Excellence. Previously Head of Optical at Asda UK, Stuart brings strong operations and technical experience to Duncan & Todd as they continue on their growth trajectory.

We have continued our partnership with Forestry Land Scotland, supporting with two new senior roles in the Commercial Team. Penny Coles joins as Head of Estate Development from Crown Estate Scotland, and David Holman joins as Head of Energy Delivery from Storegga. These roles will be critical to FLS realising its strategic ambitions to grow the commercial income of the organisation.

JFD, part of James Fisher and Sons, has appointed Stuart Rothnie as Head of Engineering & Innovation. Stuart joins from Rubberatkins, where he was formely VP of R&D.

After an in-depth global search exercise, Parkburn Precision has appointed Scott Gartshore as Head of Technical Sales. Scott joins from Osbit and brings significant technical and commercial expertise, specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of product handling systems.

SeeByte has appointed Gavin Irvine as Head of Engineering. Gavin takes up the role following an extensive external search process and will lead the company’s engineering function as it continues to grow.

The R&A has appointed Elaine Hunter as Director of Property. Elaine joins from Edinburgh Napier University, where she served as Director of Property & Facilities, where she led a multi-function team of 200 delivering a wide range of services across a varied estate in a higher education environment. This included leading the Estates Strategy and delivering the 5 year Enhancement & Infrastructure Masterplan.
